Tracking Affiliates or Multiple Merchants

With SalesCart, you can track affiliates or multiple merchants on an order-by-order or per-shopper basis. If you are tracking affiliates who provide certain products, use the product-based affiliate tracking located on the Codes tab in the product link. To track orders to certain affiliates, follow this procedure.

If you have multiple merchants or affiliates, you will assign each of them a unique code, or merchant ID number. To use affiliate tracking in SalesCart, do the following:

1. Assign a unique merchant ID number to each affiliate.
2. Provide each affiliate a unique link defined as follows:

http://www.shoppingcartweb.com/mall/affiliate.asp?merchantid=72&nextpage=index.htm

3. where merchantid= "the unique merchantid number" and nextpage= "the next page relative to the root folder in your website that you want the affiliates' customers to see"

You may call the affiliate.asp more than once a session to change the merchant ID number.

SalesCart contains a special report to summarize and report purchased dollars by affiliates. Double-click on your order database shop.mdb. Select Reports from the main menu and then click on Affiliates Report. This report will summarize the details of the affiliates. You may customize or create new reports based on Access by using the built-in features of the Access database system.
