SalesCart Toolbar and Menu in Dreamweaver

One you have installed SalesCart and re-open Macromedia Dreamweaver or UltraDev, you will notice that a new menu item and a new object/object toolbar appears for SalesCart.

Macromedia Menu changes

Note: You should see something similar but the appearance of Dreamweaver objects is slightly different in Macromedia MX compared to Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 or UltraDev 4 where objects do not appear as toolbars.

Note: When using the Add new Product Link command, you must be design mode. You may visually go to code view afterwards but you must make sure to return to design mode and highlight the Product link with your cursor when double-clicking to edit the product link.

The object toolbar contains a single icon for Inserting or calling the Add new Product Link command. However, all commands, including this ability to access the Add new Product Link command, can be accessed from the SalesCart Main Menu. To access the SalesCart Main Menu, Click on SalesCart>>SalesCart Main Menu from the Macromedia menu and the SalesCart Main Menu will appear.

The SalesCart Main Menu

There are 2 basic versions of the SalesCart main menu, the text version and the Graphical or GUI version. The functionality is identical but the text based can be grouped easily with other floaters in Dreamweaver MX. The GUI version shows the SalesCart creation flow/process.

Learning and mastering SalesCart involves 5 distinct basic steps. This is the main menu and you can access all SalesCart functions from this graphical menu and user interface.

Step 1: Getting Started- Clicking this button, provides you a touch sensitive remote help screen that describes each of the 5 basic steps.

Step 2: Manual- Clicking this button provides you with an Adobe Acrobat Reader version of this manual which may be hard copied for reading and reviewing off-line. We suggest that you download a copy of the SalesCart manual and familiarize yourself with the basic operation of SalesCart. Especially reading and paying attention to the Getting Started section of the manual. The manual can be read using a standard version of Adobe Acrobat reader free for download at http://www.adobe.com.

Step 3: Create- Use this button to launch the SalesCart Wizard and create a new SalesCart website on your hard disk. This step-by-step wizard will ask you questions and copy all the SalesCart template files to your desired hard disk location including the checkout pages. You then customize those pages to your liking. If you already have a website, provide the hard disk location and the wizard will add these templates files to your existing website on your hard disk. The most significant pages of the templates are the SalesCart Checkout pages which compute and handle the product ordering.

Step 4: Add Product Link- By clicking on the shopping cart on the toolbar or selecting Add Product Link from the Objects toolbar, you can add a Product Link to any open webpage thus converting it to a Product Page. Open the pages where you want to sell your products within Dreamweaver and customize them graphical, then position your cursor where you want the Add Button and click on the Add Product Link. Complete the properties for the product. Add as many products as you desire to each page and save the file with .asp extension.

Step 5: Support- Don't be afraid to ask for help? SalesCart comes with 30 days of unlimited incident technical support from your first contact as long as you use our sophisticated Online Support Tracking System. Our system allows you to schedule a call back or schedule a walk-through without wasting precision time on-hold waiting on the phone.

Help Button- Online HTML-Based help version of the manual. Allows you to get the Reference manual in an HTML-based electronic reference.
