SalesCart Customer Technical Support -- Tech Article #005
Installing a Demo or Released Version of SalesCart
Applies to: SalesCart 2.0/PRO 1.0/SQL 1.0
Last updated:
Sunday November 13, 2005.
SUMMARY
This is the first part of a two part series of
technical articles covering Installing SalesCart for both the demo as well as
the released versions. The first technical article covers an uneventful
installation. Uneventful in the sense that no problems are encountered
during installation. The prerequisite for this is a "corrected"
version of the PWS is installed and operational. FrontPage is correctly
installed. FrontPage server extensions are corrected installed and your
Windows operating system is functioning properly. We find in about 50% of
cases, these things are not correct.
Since SalesCart is built on the
foundation of Microsoft products, any problems in these lower levels will manifest
themselves in SalesCart. As a result, the architects of SalesCart do
numerous error checking routines during the installation of the product to find
and detect these problems before SalesCart is installed. Therefore, if you
encounter any problems you should refer to Tech Article #006 - Possible
Installation Problems Encountered while Installing SalesCart.
We suggest you print both of this Technical Articles out and read this article
first before installing the demo or installing SalesCart for the first time. We
suggest you read Tech Article #006 if you run
into any problems while installing SalesCart.
Important: This procedure assumes
assumes you have a fundamental knowledge of Microsoft FrontPage and the ability
to navigate the Internet.
