If you have used early versions of SalesCart, the general property dialog will be familiar to you. It controls and defines the general properties for an item to be ordered by your customer. Most of the items on the general property dialog are self-explanatory.

Complete the Form fields for the General section as follows. All fields are required to be filled in.
What does this do? When a part number (this can be alpha or numeric or a combination) is entered, it will appear in many areas such as the Product Page, Customer Receipt as well as in the View Orders section of Access. Enter the part number designated for this particular product.
Default? Blank. If you don't use part numbers for your products, place "1" in this field.
What does this do? When a description is entered, it will appear in man areas such as the Product Page, Customer Receipt as well as in the View Orders section of Access. Enter the description designated for this particular product.
Default? Blank. If you don't use descriptions for your products, place "1" in this field.
Note: Price, weight, units and size can only e numbers and cannot contain any special characters including a ",", "$", "DM" or any other characters besides a number. These values are "unit-less" which allows SalesCart to be easily customized for different locations in the world. Whatever the units you decide to use must remain consistent throughout the application.

What does this do? When weight is entered, it will appear in many areas such as the Product Page, Customer Receipt as well as in the View Orders section of Access. Enter the weight designated for this particular product.
Default? Blank. A value is required for this field. Place "1" in this field if you don't use weight information for your product.
What does this do? When unit/s is/are entered, it will appear in many areas such as the Product Page, Customer Receipt as well as in the View Orders section of Access. Enter the units designated for this particular product.
Default? Blank. A value is required for this field. Place "1" in this field if you don't use units information for your product.
What does this do? When size is entered, it will appear in many areas such as the Product Page, Customer Receipt as well as in the View Orders section of Access. Enter the size designated for this particular product.
Default? Blank. A value is required for this field. Place "1" in this field if you don't use size information for your product.
What does this do? Assigns a database column name of each of the fields on this tab where information is entered. This allows you to easily integrate SalesCart with the FrontPage Region Database to set up a database using the information gathered from this tab of the Product Link component. See the Advanced Techniques section titled, "Creating a Dynamic SalesCart PRO Web".
