SalesCart allows for customizable tax calculations directly through the SalesCart Wizard! Simply check the boxes that apply to your business. After this is done, enter tax rate information into either the Access Database or the Online Order System after reading the section titled "Configuring Taxes".

What does this do? Check the box Display State/Province Taxes if you wish to issue this type of tax for the entire order.

Default? Checked

If you want to: Use this option to assign State or Province taxes to the entire order. If you only want to apply taxes to certain products, use the Product Link. See the section titled, "Checkout".

What does this do? If you choose "Display State/Province Taxes", this field allows you to name the tax you wish to appear by entering it in the State/Province Display Name field.

Default? Sales Tax

If you want to: display the the name to the customer for type of taxes you are charging.

What does this do? Check the box Display Country/County Taxes if you wish to issue this type of tax for the entire order.

Default? Unchecked

If you want to: display the the name to the customer for type of taxes you are charging.

What does this do? Allows you to apply taxes on shipping and handling (if applicable) in states that require it.

Default? Unchecked

If you want to: apply a local/state tax on shipping and handling for the states that require it. Some states require tax for shipping and handling charges as well as the purchase total.

What does this do? Generally, most merchants levy online taxes with respect to the shipping address, not the billing address. Some states may, however, require merchants to collect taxes based on the "Bill-to" location rather than the "Ship To" location. **Verify with Mike**

Once taxes are selected in the Wizard, you can elect to turn them on or off if you choose on a per product basis through the SalesCart Product Link.

When done, select Next>
