The CheckOut Configuration screen allows you set many of the basic parameters of your backend checkout processes through the SalesCart Wizard.
To configure the CheckOut properties, complete the prompts as follows:
What does this do? Disables payment questions from the checkout process. If you don't want your customers to see payment questions at checkout, place a check mark in the box labeled "Omit Payment questions from Checkout".
Default? Unchecked
If you want to: use SalesCart for Free-based business options like brochures or internal processes!
What does this do? Disables payment questions from the checkout process. If you don't want your customers to see shipping questions at checkout, place a check mark in the box labeled "Omit Shipping questions from Checkout".
Default? Unchecked
If you want to: easily eliminate unnecessary shipping questions when you have a Service-based business where there is no shipping involved.
What does this do? Allows for the designation of the currency and geographical values for your region. Your ISP must enable support for the character set of the country chosen.
Note: To alter the Web server's regional settings you need to have Administrator access to the machine itself. Start by opening the Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel) and double click on the Regional Options icon. Select Input Locales tab, click Add, Select English (United States) or another International Setting from the drop down menu, click OK, Browse to ..\i386 for required files, Select OK.
Default? United States-English
If you want to: change the currency settings from the default of United States-English.
What does this do? Any ISP or Web hosting company that hosts your Web site can obtain a personalized SSL certificate for your domain name. SalesCart only officially supports an authentic SSL certificate for the domain name where the SalesCart Web site resides. There are several organizations that will authenticate your company and provide you with an SSL certificate including VeriSign and Thawte.
Default? details1.asp Enter the absolute path to the first page in the checkout system. By default, this is details1.asp. Once you have obtained your SSL certificate, you must change this to the absolute secure link to details.asp. For example, https://mydomain/cgi-bin/details1.asp
If you want to: make your checkout process secure, it's a good idea to encrypt your server transactions by obtaining an SSL certificate.
The procedure allows you to easily configure discounts for entire orders. Simply input the threshold amount at which you would like to start discounting and choose to discount using either a percentage or a distinct amount of the order total.
What does this do? Sets the threshold amount at which you would like to start discounting. Enter the total amount at which to start discounting. If the total value of your customer's order reaches or goes over this threshold, SalesCart-PRO will start computing a discount.
Default? 100. If you do not want to provide a discount, set this amount to an outrageously high figure like 10000000.
Note: SalesCart-PRO is default localizable so there are no units for amount. The units are determined by the International Settings, so you must use the same currency and weight units throughout. The currency value for the Amount to Start Discounting uses the same currency values you enter into the SalesCart-PRO Component so don't enter any $ signs or other units.
If you want to: offer customers a discount over a certain percentage or set amount of the entire order.
If you want to: offer a discount on an individual item based on volume, quantity or percentage, use the Product Link. See the section titled, "Discounts"
What does this do? Uses a percentage to calculate the Whole Order Discount. Enter the % value that you want to provide to your customer's if the threshold you set in Amount to Start Discounting is reached.
Default? Checked
If you want to: offer customers a percentage discount on whole orders that meet or exceed the Amount to Start Discounting value.
What does this do? Uses a distinct amount to calculate the Whole Order Discount. Enter the discount that you want to provide to your customer's if the threshold you set in Amount to Start Discounting is reached.
Default? Unchecked
If you want to: offer customers a set discount on whole orders that meet or exceed the Amount to Start Discounting value.
What does this do? When a discount amount is entered, SalesCart-PRO will compute a percent discount (if checked) by multiplying the total purchase by the Discount Amount and then subtracting that discount from the total order. If a Distinct Amount is checked, the Discount Amount will be subtracted from the Grand Total.
Default? 10 If you do not wish to provide a discount, enter "0"
If you want to: offer a whole order discount, a value greater than 0 must be entered here.
When done, select Next>
