Modifying the CheckOut System

SalesCart incorporates the LinkWise™ Checkout System, which consists of the following logical steps:

  1. Summation and Review of Order
  2. Collect Shipping Information Details (retrieve the information from a previous order if possible)
  3. Compute and present Shipping Choices
  4. Collect Payment Information Details
  5. Ensure Final Order Confirmation
  6. Present Receipt

Each of these major stages has an intermediate link to the next step. With minor HTML manipulation, SalesCart can accommodate the removal of shipping, the removal of payment, or even the addition of steps such merchant email confirmation or Customer email confirmation steps. The separation of the checkout process into logical steps instead of a single monolithic process provides you with virtually unlimited customizability of the checkout process. Some of the more logical changes are now discussed.
